occupational therapy

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapy - derived from the Greek "ergon" (to act, to be active) - assumes that "being active" is a basic human need and that targeted activity has a health-promoting and therapeutic effect. For this reason, occupational therapy supports and accompanies people of all ages who are restricted in their ability to act or are threatened by restriction and/or would like to expand their ability to act.

The goal of occupational therapy is to empower people to perform activities that are meaningful to them in the areas of self-care, productivity/work, and leisure/recreation in their environment.

Occupational therapy is a remedy to be prescribed by a doctor.

The costs of treatment are covered by the statutory health insurance, private health insurance or the employers' liability insurance association.
